All Aboard the Fish and Chip Train

Once again, we are teaming up with Geoff Allan Catering to bring you three Fish & Chip Trains on Saturday 11 July, with departures at 12pm and 2:30pm.

This is your only opportunity in 2026 to ride on Northumberland’s only Standard Gauge Heritage Railway whilst savouring Delicious, Freshly Cooked, Traditional Fish & Chips on board our Steam Hauled Service.

‘Fish & Chips for One’: £35 (you will be seated at a table with up to three other diners), ‘Fish & Chips for Two’: £70 (you will be seated at a table with up to two other diners) or make the day even more exclusive by hiring your own private compartment for up to four people! The total cost of a private compartment for up to 4 people is £140 and includes all of the same menu and drinks options.

All passengers can enjoy the following:

  • 1x return steam hauled trip to Greenrigg Halt.

One main menu choice of:

  • Haddock and Chips (fried in beef dripping)
  • Fried Chicken Breast Quarter and Chips
  • Battered or Fried Sausage and Chips
  • Vegetarian Onion Pattie and Chips (fried in vegetable oil)
  • Vegetarian Burger and Chips (fried in vegetable oil).

Plus one side order of:

  • Mushy Peas
  • Curry Sauce
  • Gravy.

Accompaniments of Tomato Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Tartar Sauce, Salt & Vinegar.

Free Drinks:

  • Unlimited tea or coffee for each passenger will be served throughout the journey.

Additional Drinks:
Soft and alcoholic drinks available to purchase at the time of booking for an additional charge, so why not add a soft drink, bottle of Prosecco or individual bottles of Cheviot Breweries refreshingly zesty ‘Harbour Wall’ pale ale to accompany your meal.

The experience will last approximately 1 and a half hours and will commence 30 minutes before departure time.
